Dates:  September 6 - December 16

               *One Week Break for Thanksgiving* 


Days/Times:  Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30 PM

                        Wednesday/Friday, 8:15 AM 


Who Should Attend

Women who are motivated to increase their physical activity, reduce their risk of osteoporosis, increase muscle tone and flexibility, improve balance, and do something special for themselves!  The program is appropriate for both sedentary and active women.


Program Benefits

The benefits of strength training for women have been studied extensively and include:

Increased muscle mass and strength

Improved bone density and reduced risk for osteoporosis and related fractures

Reduces risk for diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression, and obesity


Included in the Program

Guided weight-training and instruction on proper exercise technique

Information on strength training, fitness and nutrition


When and Where

Session from Sept 9 to Dec 18 with a break in October and a one week break for Thanksgiving

One hour classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:15 am

PLUS**– An extra 30-minute floor session focusing on core strength will follow the morning classes ONLY.

Participants may attend at any class time instead of registering for either morning or afternoon classes only.

Located at West Feliciana Community Center in Independence, 10498 Hwy 965, St. Francisville


You Will Need

A pair of adjustable ankle weights (5 or 10 lb.)                      Yoga mat or exercise mat for floor session              

At least one set of dumbbells (1, 3 or 5 lb. pairs)                   Water


What to Wear

Wear comfortable exercise clothing

Athletic shoes with socks



  $60 for the session/$20 per month/$5/class; **PLUS $20 additional for the floor sessions (or $5/mo) .

Baby Bootcamp 


Dates:  April 4-May 25.

Days/Times:  Monday and Wednesday from 5:45-6:45


STROLLFIT, is a 60-minute class for mom and baby. Classes cater to all fitness levels: pregnant moms, new moms recovering from pregnancy and conditioned moms with one or two stroller-aged children. Cardio drills, strength training exercises and stretching increases overall fitness, and the ab assault at the end of class means you get a total body workout!
